Spend the summer in this welcoming house with sea views and a large sunny terrace on Åstol – one of Sweden’s west coast gems.
Åstol is known for its white fishermen’s cottages lining narrow lanes and the red boathouses along the harbour – a classic coastal setting. The house features a large, wind-sheltered south-facing terrace where you can enjoy sunshine and calm conditions regardless of wind direction or strength. From the balcony, take in the evening sun and views across the Paternoster archipelago.
Just outside the house is a children’s bathing area with a waterslide and a saltwater pool with a sandy bottom. Around the entire island there are excellent swimming spots in every direction – from rocky shores, via ladders into the sea, or from designated jumping platforms.
The house accommodates at least ten guests across several bedrooms. On the top floor there are three bedrooms – two with double beds and one with two beds that can be separated – as well as a sofa bed. On the entrance level, in the recreation room, there is another double bed, and in the garden you’ll find a charming guest cottage with two additional beds. The house has one shower and two toilets, and the island is connected to municipal water and sewage systems.
On the middle floor you’ll find the spacious and welcoming kitchen, equipped with a stove, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher, along with a dining area for at least six people. In the adjoining dining room, with a glass veranda and sea views, there is plenty of space for at least ten guests to gather for meals. The living room offers generous seating in front of the TV – again with views over the sea.
Åstol is a car-free fishing village with a park, outdoor gym, volleyball court, football pitch, playground and a small grocery store. The harbour is characterised by the smokehouse, café, boat life and the children’s crab-fishing pier. During summer, local fishermen sell fresh fish and shellfish, and also arrange fishing trips or seal safaris.
