A cozy, newly renovated single-story cottage situated in the scenic area of ??Vänersnäs, a peninsula extending from the southern shore of Lake Vänern.
It is located 2 km from Lake Vänern (featuring rocky swimming areas), 1 km from Dättern, and 4 km from Gaddesanna—one of the lake's lovely, very child-friendly sandy beaches.
The cottage is beautifully situated on a large plot bordering the forest and is surrounded by abundant wildlife and birdlife. Here, you are truly close to nature and wake up to wonderful birdsong every morning. There are many lovely walking paths right outside the house, and the property offers privacy with no immediate neighbors. The grounds also include a woodshed and an outbuilding. A private spa area is available on the property—featuring a wood-fired sauna, an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, and a "Kirami" wood-fired hot tub (equipped with a hygienic liner and an efficient heater that warms the water in 1–2 hours; firewood included). This area can be made available for an additional fee; please contact the cottage owner for details.
The house is a charming, cozy little cottage of 60 square meters featuring a front veranda. It comprises a spacious living room equipped with a 55-inch LED TV, a corner sofa, a large dining table seating six, a smaller table for two, a display cabinet, and a wood-burning stove—perfect for enjoying a cozy, warming fire. The living room has an open-plan layout connecting to the fully equipped kitchen, which contains everything you might need: a large fridge-freezer, built-in oven and microwave, stovetop, dishwasher, coffee maker, and all necessary kitchenware. The cupboards hold Rörstrand’s lovely "Mon Amie" dinnerware for a touch of everyday luxury, while the display cabinet houses fine china and glassware to add a special, elegant touch to your holiday. A charming antique cast-iron stove adds character to the kitchen, though please note that it is not to be used for fires.
The house has two separate bedrooms. One bedroom features a comfortable 160 cm double bed, while the other has a bunk bed with an 80 cm wide upper bunk and a 120 cm wide lower bunk. We have upgraded these two beds with a 9 cm thick latex mattress topper to ensure they are comfortable for older children and adults alike. Duvets and pillows are provided in the cottage. A travel cot with a thick mattress—including a duvet and pillow—is available to borrow. A high chair, a changing mat, and a set of plastic children's tableware are also available for use.
The bathroom features tiled walls and underfloor heating, and is equipped with a washbasin, shower, toilet, and a washer-dryer combo. There is a bright, pleasant hallway with an entrance from the veranda, where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee.
The garden features outdoor furniture, a sturdy Weber grill, and a large, inviting hammock where you can relax to the sound of birdsong. Mobile broadband and free Wi-Fi are included, and a large Bluetooth speaker is also provided. The cottage is stocked with laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher tablets, hand soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee filters, tea, spices, tealights, tea towels, and more. Heating is provided by an air-source heat pump and electric radiators. Water is supplied by a private drilled well. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cottage. The property includes a potato patch where you can dig up your own potatoes to boil for dinner when they are in season! You can also buy fresh-caught fish or freshly boiled crayfish from local professional fishermen here in Vänersnäs. Fresh, delicious eggs are available for purchase at a self-service stand within walking distance of the cottage.
A great birdwatching spot with a bird tower is located 4 km away. The area around Lake Vänern boasts rich birdlife; both white-tailed eagles and ospreys nest nearby. Lake Hornborga, famous for the "dance of the cranes" in the spring, is a major attraction. The hills of Halleberg and Hunneberg are close by, featuring nature reserves and attractions such as "The Moose Mountain" (Älgens Berg) with its Royal Hunt Museum, fishing lakes, and lovely hiking trails. Trollhättan offers canal locks and waterfalls where water is released throughout the summer. If you wish to swim in saltwater, you can take a day trip by car to the West Coast; for indoor water parks, there are options in both Trollhättan and Vänersborg (a 20-minute drive away).
During the summer weeks (weeks 25–33), the cottage is rented out on a weekly basis only, with Saturdays as the changeover day. For daily bookings, we offer a 20% discount on the nightly rate starting from the third night onwards. Prices are as follows:
* Low season: 1,400 SEK/night or 6,800 SEK/week
* Mid-season (weeks 8,15, 25–26, 34–36):
1,500 SEK/night or 8,300 SEK/week
* High season (weeks 27–33, 51–1): 1,700 SEK/night or 9,800 SEK/week
