The wonderful west coast of Sweden is unique with its fine rocks, beaches, and islands. It is a beloved tourist destination for the holidays and for many the west coast of Sweden equals summer.

The west coast is a large area that includes the coastal archipelago in Bohuslän, Västergötland, and Halland. If one would divide the west coast in three regions then some of the most popular resorts are, from north to south – Strömstad, Grebbestad, Tanum, Hamburgsund, Sotenäs (with Hunnebostrand, Bovallstrand etc), Smögen, Kungshamn and Fisketången, Uddevalla and Lysekil. Then Stenungsund, Orust, Tjörn, Marstrand, Gothenburg archipelago, Varberg, and Falkenberg. Then Halmstad, Tylösand, Mellbystrand, Båstad, Torekov, and Ängelholm.

There are many things worth seeing and a lot to do on the west coast. Enjoy the ocean by boat or kayak, fish for mackerel and crabs with the kids, eat fresh seafood, visit the many small fishing villages and docks and boathouses, its restaurants and taverns. Sunbathe and swim, snorkel in the beautiful sea and bicycling or hiking. Every year there are many competitions in sailing and other sports. Go shopping or play golf at one of the fine golf courses. There are also a variety of museums and exhibitions in art and culture. Or why not a romantic journey by boat to one of the west coast's beautiful islands.

The west coast is here to be discovered and it is best done with your dear and loved ones. Why not rent a cottage by the ocean and take various day trips to its various pearls, or maybe just take it easy and take in the wonderful scenery along with a good book. We hope you enjoy the stunning Swedish west coast. Very cozy also during the winter.
